The World Human Rights Cities Forum 2026 will be held under the theme “Human Rights Cities Against Authoritarianism and Populism.”

As part of the forum, Chonnam National University will hold a special session titled “AI, Authoritarianism, and Democratic Resilience in Cities.”

The Institute for Convergent Humanities at Chonnam National University is one of the organizers of this special session.

The session will examine how AI-driven urban governance affects human rights, local democracy, transparency, participation, privacy, non-discrimination, and equitable access to services. It will also discuss institutional, civic, and policy strategies for strengthening democratic resilience in cities.
